The Under 11s produced a fantastic display to defend the title which was won by last year's Year 5 and 6 children.

They progressed through the group stage with relative ease, scoring 7 goals and conceding none.

Onto the semi-final and a close game was settled late on with a well worked goal coming from a corner and a glancing header by Carter-Jack. The opposition did everything they could to get back into the game, including sending their goalkeeper forward in the dying minutes! St Joseph's dug in to get through to the final.

The final was another fiercely contested game against St Bede's. It could have gone either way but after the scores were level at full time, a period of extra time 'golden goal' was played. In a moment of drama, St Bede's thought they had won in the dying seconds, until the referee disallowed the goal after several minutes of deliberation!

The tournament was therefore decided on a penalty shootout. Sadly, we ended up being on the wrong end of a narrow loss. A huge well done to all the players who took part, including all seven of those who were brave enough to step up to take a penalty in front of a fairly large crowd who had gathered to watch the final.

An excellent display which saw the team come away with a runners up medal in what is always a highly competitive and prestigious tournament! Special mention must go to the defenders and goalkeeper who did not conceed a single goal.
